| **7月2日の午前8時の飛行機で伊丹空港を離陸したANA機は15分遅れで成田空港に到着。そしてしばらく会ってなかった知人に会いに一路、池袋へと向かいました。彼女とは昨年の10月以来会ってなかったので時間があっと言う間に過ぎてしまいました。時計を見ると
12時30分、今回の同行者mimoriさんに連絡、先方も遅れるとのこと。まあ結局いろいろあって成田空港に戻って来たのが出発の60分
前。（国際線は出発の2時間前に空港に到着しなければ乗り遅れる可能性があるのに。）ラウンジで一息する間もなくユナイテッド航空
のサンフランシスコ行きに搭乗しました。 **サンフランシスコで車を借りてmimoriさんが行きたいと希望していた神社へと向かいます。でも何処にも見当たらず。神社があるはず の住所に住んでいる男性に聞いたところ2年前に移転したとのこと。おいおい。何しに空港から２時間も掛けて来たの？ **サンフランシスコ市内を見学する余裕もなく急いで空港に戻ってオレンジカウンティ行きの飛行機に飛び乗ります。もう少し余裕がほしいなあ。で最終的にアナハイムのコーストホテルに到着したのが19時過ぎでした。20時に昨年の3月にボイスで出会ったリンジーと会う約束をしていたのでシャワーを浴びた後に着替えてホテルのロビーへと急ぎます。彼女とは1年振りの再会を果たしました。今回、一緒に行く予定だったsuzukaさんの代わりにマスカレードに出てくれる彼女。楽しい3日間になりそうです。その夜は遅い時間までコスプレして遊んでました。 **翌日、登録の手続きに会場へ。リンジーから待ち時間長かったよっと聞いてたんですが時間帯が良かったのか40分くらいで登録証 を貰うことができました。で会場内を散策。アニメエキスポは2002年に一度参加したのですがその時と会場が違うため（ロングビーチ だった。）ちょっと迷ったりもしましたがその雰囲気を満喫しました。mimoriさんも喜んでましたよ。そして昨年出会った多くの人との再会 も嬉しい体験の一つでした。 **日曜日、マスカレード本番の日、全くリンジーと打ち合わせしてないことに気付いた私たちは時間を割くことに。大丈夫なのだろうか。 やはりこの日は結構時間を取られてしまって会場から出ることが出来ませんでした。マスカレードは20時から24時まで。参加者のレベルはとっても高くて本当に圧倒されてしまいました。でもリンジーが賞取りましたよ。マスカレードの後、日本からスタッフとして来ている桜井氏に会って1時間程話を聞くともう3時過ぎで、結局、徹夜で帰りの飛行機に乗ることになってしまいました。 **たった3泊の旅行でしたがとても濃い内容になったことは間違いありません。これからもじゃんじゃん海外イベントに参加して行くつもりです。 |
****On 2nd July,ANA flight depart from Itami Airport at 08:00 arrived at Narita airport 15 minutes delayed its schedules.And I went to Ikebukuro to meet my friend,Marimo. We haven't seen each other since last October,so we had a lot of things to tell ourselves. And I realized that it was the time to meet Mimori at Ikebukuro station! I quit having conversation with Marimo and contact Mimori. And finally we arrived at Narita airport 60 minutes prior to departure.(Usually,we have to arrive at airport 120 minutes prior to departure when we use international flight!) I couldn't have a break at airline lounge. It was sad! ****After arriving San Francisco,we rent a small car and drove to Japanese shrine which existed in Stockton! However we couldn't find it! I asked residents fro reason. He said it had been moved for 2 years! Mimori-san!What for did we drive for 2 hours to come to this place? After that we had no time to see San Francisco downtown. ****At 19:00,we arrived at Coast hotel anaheim,one of main space for convention!I had a promise with Lynzie who met at Anime Oasis 2003 last year. We had to prepare to meet her.(I and Mimori put on our costume even there was not enough time to do.Sorry Lynzie!) The first night of convention,we played Dance Dance Revolution,and took supper with our costume,and visited my friend who saw last year.We went to bed at 02:00! ****Second day,we went to get our registration card and went to cosplaysection for "Masquerade" to ask some question.Also we were searching many cosplayers to get a good shot for making our convention report.I understood that there would be not enough time on Sunday because of "Masquerade"preparation.And we realized that we forgot one important thing at midnight of Saturday. ****What is the problem?Yes! Did you think we had to have preparation for "Masquerade" It would be the most important thing I suppose. Especially,Mimori were worried about this.But I and Lynzie kept our pace.At Masquerade,the qualities of attendants overwhelmed us,but we did our duty.Lynzie got a prize,and we really enjoyed this main event of Anime Expo 2004! ****After the "Masquerade" I and Mimori said good-by to our American friends and meet Mr.Sakurai,volunteer stuff from Japanese Anime society.(He run animation company in Tokyo.) We had to leave Anaheim at Monday 06:30,so we couldn't sleep last night of convention. Finally,this was the first anime convention for Mimori(Japanese anime events are not called for "convention".),and he really enjoyed it. He promised that he would come bak to U.S.convention within one year.I told him that I would have a plan to join Sakura Con 2005. I have no doubt that Mimori had valuable experience to join Anime Expo 2004.And also my friend who couldn't attend this time would realize how funny US convention is when he will join.It was very short stay but we really enjoyed ourselves>Thanks for everyone who attend Anime Expo 2004! |
